Job Description
The full time Pharmacist supports the Superintendent Pharmacist in his/her role along with other duties as stated below:
(1) Assessment of patients, prescription and dispensing of appropriate medications and counselling on rational use of drugs to achieve desired therapeutic outcome
(2) Organise health awareness campaigns to educate the masses on key health topics
(3) Attending industrial meetings, clinical meetings with medical representatives to get updates on their product innovations and improve our services to patients. This Is part of continuous education of pharmacists.
(4) Collaborating with doctors and other health workers to give the best care to the patients eg: reaching out to prescribers to resolve any issues with prescriptions and communicating such with courtesy
(5) Establishing rapport and relationships with clients to ensure they feel delighted each time they visit.
(6) Organising sequential clinical meetings among pharmacy staff to update clinical knowledge on choice topics
(7) Supervising monthly stock taking ensuring detected discrepancies are promptly resolved
(8) Ensure poison cupboard properly locked and books are well documented upon dispensing of poisons.
(9) Drive the process of collecting data of customers who visit the pharmacy
(10) Design and execute health awareness campaigns and outreaches that would help drive the business of the Pharmacy
(11) Ensure that controlled drugs and poisons register of the Pharmacy are properly kept
(12) Drive the medication use review process and ensure all records are properly kept
(13) Ensure all patients are properly counseled and all medications leaving the pharmacy are properly labeled.
(14) Ensure proper documentation and resolution of all issues regarding customer returns inward
(15) Ensure stock outs are reduced to the barest minimum and drive the process of replenishing stock as soon as possible
(16) Ensure timely resolution of all customer complaints
(17) Supervise Pharmacy assistants to ensure proper shelving and merchandising of all items of stock
(18) Drive the process of periodic stock taking and resolving all discrepancies arising thereof.
(19) Ensure that staff and customers have a pleasant experience.
